Fresno, CA (3117 W Shaw Ave), Store #42 was a Showbiz Pizza Place that opened on July 18, 1983 inside the Times Square Shopping Center with a Rock-Afire Explosion, which is still open to this day with the 2.0 Remodel.

History

ShowBiz

Fresno on West Shaw opened as ShowBiz Pizza Place on July 18, 1983 with the Rock-afire Explosion like every other Showbiz Pizza location. This was the 10th Showbiz Pizza store to open in California (2nd to open in the state after Dublin, Bakersfield, Pasadena, Montclair, Oceanside, Vallejo, CA (774 Admiral Callaghan Lane)|Vallejo, Lakewood, Torrance, Pacific Coast Hwy, & Visalia). It was then sold to corporate on October 27th, 1986 along with Oceanside, Bakersfield, Visalia and Escondido. Sadly, there's no documentation of Fresno on West Shaw when it was a Showbiz Pizza despite one exterior photo.

Tux Chuck and Cool Chuck Eras

Sometime in 1991-1992, Fresno on West Shaw underwent Concept Unification, and The Rock-afire was replaced by Munch's Make Believe Band, complete with all of the characters including extras such as Building, Moon, Wink, Pizzacam, and Munch Jr. Chuck E. wore his signature black tuxedo and red derby hat. Fresno on West Shaw then remodeled to Phase 1 in around 1994-1995. In 1998, Fresno on West Shaw underwent another remodel which involved the 3-Stage being removed and replaced with a Studio C Alpha.

Avenger Era

Sometime around 2006-2007, Fresno on West Shaw remodeled to the 2005 update to the 2003 'Cool Chuck' Reconfiguration / Major Remodel Initiative, removing the Showroom Walls, Balcony Seating, and a new exterior. It is unknown of Fresno on West Shaw ever had the Cool Chuck outfit. It's unknown when Fresno on West Shaw got the Avenger outfit. Chuck's cap was removed in 2013.

Present Day

In around 2014-2016, The Interactive Console was removed. The exterior was repainted along with the rest of the plaza in 2014-2015. Around February of 2024, the store would receive the 2.0 Remodel, receiving the Refresh version, removing their stage and adding a Dance Floor, which is how the store remains as of March 2024.

Stages

Originally, Fresno featured a Rock-Afire Explosion, as all other Showbiz locations did, in around 1991, Fresno would undergo Concept Unification, turning the RAE into the 3-Stage. Fresno would have the 3-Stage until 1999-2000, when they would receive one of the first Studio Cs in California (Which was a Studio C Alpha). The store would eventually remove its stage in February 2024 in favor of receiving the 2.0 Remodel
