Jacksonville, FL opened its doors on August 14th, 1980 as the 2nd Showbiz Pizza store worldwide and the first store in Florida. The Rock-afire Explosion animatronic band made their first public appearance in this store. Crowds were drawn to the showroom, as people were amazed by the high-tech, cheap, family-oriented, and fun entertainment at the time, while also being completely unaware of the success and impact it would leave for years to come. This effect prompted for Showbiz executives to continue installing Rock-afire Explosion entertainment in their upcoming restaurants. As a result, Billy Bob was crowned the mascot of the company. Showbiz's deal with Creative was only the beginning of their success. This was one of 18/19 stores to receive a Beta Rockafire Explosion show, though it was very still unique in several ways. Images of this store and their show were used commonly in ads, postcards, and other promotional materials for Showbiz Pizza Place and Creative Engineering. In around 1981, they replaced the Beta Rock Afire Explosion with a finalized one. Like many other Showbiz locations, it would eventually receive the 1988 remodel years after it would open.

History

Showbiz's deal with Creative was only the beginning of their legacy.

In 1991-1992, Concept Unification was in full swing, Replacing the RockAfire Explosion with Munch's Make Believe Band.

Then store would receive the 1993 remodel sometime by 1995-1996 at the earliest, complete with: an Obstotron (later SkyTubes); Platinum CD Award posters; Mt. Chuckmore poster; 1991 Postcard posters (Pasqually's Italy and Jasper's Wild West); Cheese Guitar sign; 1993 Salad Bar, Beverages and Round Chuck signs; 1991 Confetti Portraits; and other misc signage.

In 1999, Jacksonville would remodel once again, this time removing the 3-Stage for a Studio C Alpha.

In 2005, Jacksonville would receive the 2005 Remodel; removing the 90's decorations, knocking down the Showroom walls, removing the balcony seating, adding purple walls, and a gameroom expansion in the former Western Auto. It is unknown when they received the Cool Chuck outfit.

By 2012, Chuck's Cool Chuck outfit was replaced with the Avenger outfit. Chuck's cap was removed in September 2013.

In 2014-2015, the Interactive Console & Bluescreen Camera were removed, leaving the Bluescreen behind.

As of October 2022, Jacksonville still has the 2005 Remodel & Studio C Alpha.

Stages

Originally when the store opened, they had a Rock-Afire Explosion, they were the 1st RAE installed, and originally had the "Beta" bots, which had hollow frames, unlike the later ones, which have solid frames. They would replace the original bots in 1981, as all other "Beta" shows. In around 1991 or 1992, they would undergo Concept Unification, this was the process used to convert the RAE characters into the Chuck E. Cheese characters. As of October 2022, they still have the Studio C Alpha, with it being the last Animatronic show in the Jacksonville, as 6065 Youngerman Circle received 2.0 in Early 2020, 5721 Beach Blvd closed in 1984 as a Pizza Time Theatre with a Balcony Stage, & 10320 Shops Lane never had an animatronic show of any kind.
