When Waco opened, they were the first of 3 stores (The 2 others being Lake Jackson, Texas and Dover, Delaware.) to receive the Small-Town Studio C Prototype, which was a stage created for the 3 "Small-Town CEC" test stores (Waco, Lake Jackson, and Dover), although it only contained a Blue Screen (used on Studio C stages of the time.), 3 TVs, and lights.

In July 2003, Waco received either the first or second Small-Town Studio C (also known as Studio C Cappa). Waco's Cappa was unique in that where the Blue Screen would be on other Cappas was instead a unique panel that said CEC and had lights on the sides.

In October 2022, Waco received the 2.0 Remodel, removing their Small-Town Studio C for a Chuck E. Live Stage and Video Wall. As of January 2023, Waco still has the Dance Floor and Video Wall.

This location also was coincidentally located within the same shopping center as the former Showbiz Pizza Place that closed 10 years prior. [1]

Stages

Waco's Studio C would debut without an animatronic or blue screen, the show room would rather have a make-shift light show that would play video features on the three monitors over a CEC marquee.

In 2003 the setup received Chuck E.'s stage and later would be relocated further back into the restaurant, as a remodel expanded thee area.

During October 2022 the Studio C would be destroyed during Waco's 2.0 remodel.

History

This location opened on June 24, 2002 as Chuck E. Cheese's Buffet, a prototype 6,100 SF buffet that rids the animatronics and play areas.[2] The concept eventually was phased out during its first remodel, when an expanded arcade area and purple walls were added. The locations size would nearly double in size as they've received booth the skills area and kiddie area.

In October 2022, the Waco location would undergo its 2.0 remodel.

"Local Chuck E. Cheese Mascot"

During the 2020 pandemic, Kade Perry, an employee at the Waco location, stood outside of the establishment looking through the windows, upset about not being able to work. This would be the second time of having local news' attention--as on September 6, 2019 Kade received a tattoo of a vintage Chuck E. Cheese's logo on his right shoulder as a birthday present.[3]

Kade would ultimately end up being laid off after allegedly* sending a photo of himself in the restaurant's Chuck E. Cheese mascot costume on the toilet to people on the internet.
