Cincinnati, OH (8801 Colerain Ave) was a Chuck E. Cheese's location running from 1981 to 2019.

The Colerain Ave Showbiz Pizza Place opened on November 11th 1981, and closed its doors on September 22, 2019 as a Chuck E. Cheese's.

Stages

The store opened with the Rock Afire Explosion on November 11, 1981, then got Concept Unification on April 28, 1991 causing the stage to be converted into a 3-stage. Colerain was an interesting 3-stage as by the end of its life almost everything had been removed/changed.

Between 1992-2002 Munch Jr had been removed, all the latex masks were replaced with Plastic by 2002, next was Pizzacam by late 2002 or early 2003, The tuxedo outfit was replaced with the full Cool Chuck outfit in late 2002, The CEC Neon sign was removed 2002-2005, The TV Light and TV Box were removed between 2005-2007, The curtains were removed in 2007-2008, Chuck went from full Cool Chuck to full Avenger in February 2011, around this time frame was when the condition of the stage improved majorly from its previous years. Munch's Make Believe Band Sign was removed in 2013, During Summer 2016 the tech left at Colerain leading the stage to fall causing the removal of the final few props that could still be removed. Moon was removed in 2017, Building was lowered and had the mask and mech snapped off in 2018, Chucks CRT was removed also in 2018, Then on September 22, 2019, the entire 3-stage was removed as the store closed.

History

The Colerain Ave Showbiz Pizza Place opened up November 11, 1981 opening in front of the former Gold Circle Mall the store featured The Show Room, Sports Room, 60 Arcade games, a merry-go-round, and "a magic cave". This store remained unchanged until the late 80s when the store remodeled gaining the checkered patterns on the walls and oil paintings removing much of the Showbiz color scheme.

Soon after, on April 29, 1991, the store received Concept Unification. Soon after, the store renovated the entire restaurant to feature a new updated game package, new artwork, new paint job, and basically new everything. Colerain had a showroom entrance in the middle of the show room wall. It's unknown currently if that was always there or was added in the 90s. Then in September 2009, the store received a major facelift removing the showroom walls, all the old 90s décor, and expanding outwards into the parking lot. With that remodel came with what's normal for a 05 Remodel package. In 2016 the Skytubes were removed and the Toddler Zone was removed minus the play fort in 2017. On March 29, 2017, Michelle Wagner overdosed on heroin in the Women's Bathroom[1]. Then on September 17, 2019 it was announced via an employee who worked at the store that on September 22, 2019 Colerain, Ave would close after 38 years due to the owner of the property increasing rent on the lease and CEC no longer wanting to spend the amount on the store. Colerain was the second to last store with the "sunrise" organ front with the final being Charleston, SC. As of 2022 the store is still vacant and being used as storage for the car dealership across the street.
