Kansas City, MO (2726 NE Vivion Rd) Store #82[1] was a Chuck E. Cheese's that opened as a ShowBiz Pizza Place on March 3, 1980, as the first ShowBiz Pizza Place location to open.
It closed in Spring 2007, after 27 years in operation.
History
ShowBiz Pizza
It opened on March 3, 1980, in the Antioch Center. This location used to have the Wolf Pack 5, and later replaced by the The Rock-afire Explosion animatronic band. They would keep this until they got Concept Unification sometime in the early 1990s.
Chuck E. Cheese's
Later on, after Concept Unification, the location continued to operate as a CEC location. This location got the 1990s remodel and sign and would keep them until closure. They closed in Spring 2007, as the only remaining open business in the Antioch Center. The mall, after, was left fully vacant, and the whole shopping center began demolition in early 2012. The demolition completed in 2013. Interestingly, when the Chuck E. Cheeses was open, a label scar from the Showbiz Pizza sign remained until it closed.
Stages
Originally when the store first opened as a ShowBiz Pizza Place, they had the Wolf Pack 5, later, the Rock-afire Classic Stage. When they got Concept Unification, they kept the stage. It remained at the location until the 2007 closure.
