Durham 90s exterior

To Saan1ty, I think Durham had the checkers because stores opening up until 1994-1995 had the checkers exposed at some point. You probably went to Durham sometime after they covered up the checkers (I can assure you that there are no exterior photos of the store before you went, but most or all locations opening from 1987-1994/1995 had the exterior checkers exposed). Lancaster PA opened a little later than Durham and they had the Late 80s-Early 90s Rat Chuck for the logo, small red awning, and checkers exposed at opening. They covered those up a couple years later with larger red/yellow awnings, this could be the case with Durham as well. There's a photo of Lancaster PA's exterior when new in a newspaper and it shows. Lancaster PA opened on May 23rd, 1994 and Durham opened a bit earlier.

Here's a photo of Sharonville's exterior from opening for reference:

Durham pretty much had an exterior paint scheme like Sharonville's at opening (as you were probably not born yet) until around 1996-1998 when they redid the exterior. It originally said "Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza, it was changed to "Chuck E. Cheese's" at some point.

While you may be right, a reason why they had that late 80s logo is because CEC corporate had some left over or something like that. Just because Lancaster may have opened like that doesn't necessarily mean Durham did, since there's always going to be a few unique stores here and there (see the stage.) Maybe an older photo will surface one day but since the arms out logo was used from 1993-1995, I would think they opened with it. Maybe the awnings weren't as big originally but again since there's no proof to back it up I would bet that it opened that way. I think why Lancaster could have looked like that is maybe they just had some of those signs left over? "The "Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza" wordmark would be shortened to just "Chuck E. Cheese's" after 1994, and the logo was updated, this time having Chuck E. wearing a yellow sweater and a red baseball cap with a yellow star on it." You do seem like you know what you are talking about so I guess I might have been wrong lol Saan1ty (talk) 01:04, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The Arms out logo was used in stores in 1989-1992 as well. They probably replaced the older Arms out logo with the newer Coach Chuck one. Because of Thumb Chuck in the back of the building. They must of redesigned the Arms out logo after 1994 for minor updates.

Durham probably had this logo when they opened, probably later in the 90's they changed to this

The store's construction basically started sometime in Mid 1993 which is probably why.

Harrisburg PA interestingly opened with a unique logo that wasn't found in most stores in 1992. They didn't have the typical Arms out logo, some of the Pennsylvania locations only had Chuck's head above the building.

Talk page preservation

Saan1ty -- per 64th, talk pages should stay as they are unless there's any stuff that needs censoring. Stripes (talk) 14:04, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Saan1ty since you're the one who's done 99% of the page edits you should really bring in some references, that goes for other pages if you haven't done citations on those either. Alrighty, will start adding proper citations to any pages which need them including here in the coming days. Saan1ty (talk) 03:30, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
