From Cheese-E-Pedia

5156 North Academy Blvd, Store #558 was a Showbiz Pizza Place that opened on September 1, 1982 as a corporate store with a Rock-Afire Explosion, which is still open to this day. It is located in the Academy Place Shopping Center.

It should not be confused with the Colorado Ave location which opened on May 6th, 1982 and closed on January 8th, 1984 with a Rock-Afire Explosion.

Colorado Springs opened on September 1st, 1982 in the Academy Place Shopping Center as the seventh and last Showbiz Pizza Place in Colorado (7th after the Colorado Ave location, Lakewood, Fort Collins, Englewood, Arvada and Aurora) as a corporate-owned store. Colorado Springs originally featured the Rock-Afire Explosion, as all other Showbiz locations did. Colorado Springs would have it for a few years, until around 1991/1992, when they would receive the 1988 remodel, receiving Concept Unification, where the Rock-afire Explosion characters were changed to the Chuck E. Cheese characters, and removing all SPP decor for newer decor, adding the Blue and White awnings, and the checkers. In the mid 1990s, Colorado Springs received a minor remodel removing older CU decor for the Record Posters and Colored Chase Lights. In 2001, Colorado Springs would receive the Phase 3 remodel replacing the 3-Stage with a Studio C Beta, 32m, removing older decor for newer decor, removing Blue and White awnings, removed checkers, and adding SkyTubes and Toddler Zone. They then received the 2005 update to the 2003 Remodel in 2006-2007 replacing older decor with newer decor, removing Showroom Walls, Balcony Seating, relocating the stage, removed Toddler Zone, and relocating some of the games, kitchen area, and SkyTubes. Colorado Springs would remain like this until September 2022, when they would receive the 2.0 remodel, this involved removing the Studio C Beta, 32m stage and replacing it with a Dance Floor + Video Wall which was relocated back to it's original spot. as of March 2023, Colorado Springs still has the 2.0 remodel and Dance Floor + Video Wall.

Originally, Colorado Springs featured a Rock-Afire Explosion, as all other Showbiz locations did. In 1991/1992, they would undergo Concept Unification, turning the Rock-Afire Explosion into the 3-Stage. Colorado Springs would have the 3-Stage until 3rd Quarter 2001, when they would receive a Studio C Beta, 32m.

In February 2023, Colorado Springs would replace their Beta, 32m with a Dance Floor and Video Wall, as part of their 2.0 remodel. It was the only Studio C Beta, 32m in Colorado.

As of February 2023, Colorado Springs still has the 2.0 Remodel and Dance Floor + Video Wall.
