Rockville, MD (5270 Randolph Rd)

From Cheese-E-Pedia

5270 Randolph Road, Store #531 is a Chuck E. Cheese's that opened on August 20, 2002 with a Studio C Beta, 32M, which is still open to this day

This is not to be confused with the Rockville, MD (855 Rockville Pike) Pizza Time Theatre which opened in May 1981 and closed in 1985 with a Balcony Stage.

Rockville is the last Studio C Beta, 32M in Maryland, and will eventually be relocating to Kensington (5238 Nicholson Ln) sometime in 2023.

History

Rockville opened on August 20, 2002 with a 32 movement Studio C 2000. They were the second Maryland CEC to open with Studio C. They received the Phase 3 (2000) remodel and installed fluorescent lighting in 2011. They were rumored to be relocating in 2022 to the other side of the shopping plaza for a bigger space but plans were canceled. In March 2023, it was announced that they will relocate to 5238 Nicholson Ln and this location is set to close sometime at the end of Summer 2023.

Stages

Rockville opened with a 32 movement bot Studio C . Just like Frederick, MD, this Beta has one screen instead of the usual three screen Beta. Chuck wore the cool chuck outfit with the red cap, blue shirt and khakis until the late 2000's when he received the avenger outfit. Chuck E's cap was removed in late 2013 for the new rockstar look and he received jeans in August 2017. They also removed the CRT TV and lighting above in 2018
