Questions were raised about the status of decor, so I left a note in the history that some items were taken for the retro concept. Lastly, restored the animatronics table to its prior contents but in order. Page needs citation on many things since a lot of it is on-hand from Ryan, but it's to standard. Exterior of Springfield, OH on June 22, 2022.

Springfield, OH (2345 Valley Loop Rd) is a Chuck E. Cheese's, formerly a Showbiz Pizza Place, that opened on January 12, 1983.

Stages

The store opened with a Rock-afire Explosion Classic Stage. During Concept Unification the existing show was converted into a Concept Unification Stage / 3-Stage show. It is currently unknown as to when the store got Concept Unification, but it is rumored to be around 1992 due to the color of the valance above the stage.

Throughout its history as a 3-Stage, the store borrowed parts and props from closed locations in Cincinnati, OH (8801 Colerain Ave) and Columbus, OH (4284 Macsway Ave).

The stage show was removed during the location's 2.0 Remodel on August 10, 2022. This 3-Stage was the last one to exist in Ohio. According to fandom members familiar with the location, the 3-Stage was disposed of behind the store. The fate of the show is unknown, as it was sitting idly in the dumpster for up to a week afterwards.

History

This location opened along with Muskegon, MI (3524 Green St) and was the 147th store in the company. The store's overall layout was not changed from its opening day layout and architecture, with the exception of new game packages and decor changes throughout its history.

The store received the '88 Remodel Package on June 28, 1990. This was followed by the 1993 Remodel later in the decade. Between 2010 and 2015, the store would undergo changes to its appearance; art such as the sports decor, planters and hanging stars were removed.

The showroom's right shelf was removed in December 2014, and left shelf was removed in early 2015. Various walls were also painted purple. The store's appearance stayed consistent until its 2.0 Remodel.

In October 2019, the store received parts from the closed Cincinnati, OH (8801 Colerain Ave) store, which included Jasper's can and Chuck E.'s Avenger outfit, which replaced the existing Cool Chuck outfit. A month or two later, the air compressor lost function and the show remained aired down through the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. During this period, the store received more parts from the Columbus, OH (4284 Macsway Ave) location, which included two building backdrops, Jasper's hat, star bulbs, and the top piece of Munch's organ.

The location would receive a Studio C air compressor in February 2021, which was just enough to power Chuck E.'s movements. In February 2022, the store repaired the original compressor and was able to power the full show. However, 3 weeks after the compressor was repaired, it fell into disrepair. In May 2022, the air compressor issues were somewhat resolved with all characters working again at half-capacity to conserve air. In the following months, the curtains were removed for not being fire-retardant. Wooden walls from the Columbus, OH (4284 Macsway Ave) store were used to block the non-functioning Sun (Animatronic) and Moon (Animatronic).

The location's 2.0 Remodel began on July 25, 2022. On October 12, 2022, the location celebrated its Grand Reopening, marking an end of the remodel process. Some decor pieces were taken for what is rumored to be the company's Chuck E. Cheese Retro Store concept.
