Brooklyn, NY (139 Flatbush Ave)

From Cheese-E-Pedia

139 Flatbush Avenue is a Chuck E. Cheese's in the Atlantic Terminal mall that opened in 2004 with a Studio C 2000 and still operates to this day with the 2.0 remodel and Dance Floor.

This is not to be confused with the original Brooklyn, NY (8949 Bay Pkwy) Pizza Time Theatre that opened in February 1984 and closed on April 26, 1987.

History

After the original Brooklyn PTT closed in the late 80's, Brooklyn was left without a CEC for 17 years until the opening of 139 Flatbush Ave on July 22, 2004. Brooklyn opened on the second floor of the Atlantic Terminal shopping mall with the Phase 3 (2000) remodel, 1990s Major Remodel artwork, 16 movement Studio C Beta with the Cool Chuck outfit, unique signs above the escalator and in the front of the store. Brooklyn was one of the rare CEC's at the time to open in a mall (may have been the only one open in a mall at the time since Brockton closed the year prior). Chuck E.'s stage, similar to other NYC area stores like Bronx and Harlem, had a rope barrier to block kids from getting on the stage. It is unsure when it was put up but it was there as early as 2011 and replaced with a stronger "COL-like" barrier in 2015.

The Brooklyn CEC failed a health inspection in 2006 causing the store to temporarily close after being shut down by the health department. They were re-inspected a week later and reopened not long after that. The store remained in the same condition until 2015 when they remodeled to Phase 5.

In Early 2023, the store remodeled to CEC 2.0 removing the Beta for a Dance Floor and screen, 2.0 decor around the store. During the 2.0 remodel, they received the first ever Trampoline Zone which seems to be the SkyTubes replacement.
