Springfield, PA (381 Baltimore Pike), Store #529 was a Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza in Springfield, Pennsylvania that opened on December 4th, 1990, as a Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza and closed on April 15th, 2012. It was demolished not long after closure and rebuilt where the current store stands today.

History

Pre-CEC; Celebration Station (1984 to 1989)

The building that occupied the original Springfield CEC was a Celebration Station that opened in 1984 and closed in 1989. The location would remain vacant for a year until the construction of CEC had begun.

Chuck E. Cheese's era (1990-2012)

A year after the closure of Celebration Station, the store opened as a CEC on December 4th, 1990, with a Road Stage Prototype (One of 4/5 Produced) and the 1988 Remodel. This was the only Road Stage installed in Pennsylvania. In the early 90's (1991/1992), the Road Stage Prototype was replaced with the finalized version, adding Wink above Mr. Munch, moving the TV, adding a different backdrop and removing the "road design" in front of the stage.

In the mid 90's, the store would remodel to Phase 1 of the 1994 SPT Repositioning / Remodel Program; with the removal of elements from the 1988 remodel such as the Blue & White Awnings, checkers around the store, & neon lights; Also adding numerous pieces of 1990's decor & converting the Road Stage into a 2-Stage which had lift curtains. In the Early-Mid 2000's, Chuck's Tuxedo & Derby would be replaced with the Cool Chuck outfit. At some unknown periods of time, Jasper's PTT mask was repainted, and the lift curtains were removed. By Summer 2009, Chuck's Cool Chuck outfit was replaced with the Avenger outfit. The Chuck E. animatronic also had walkaround ears for some unknown reason (possibly because it broke).

Plans to remodel to the newer Phase 4 remodel would go on for years with talks of a remodel heating up in the early 2010's. Plans had emerged to completely redevelop the site of the store from as early as July 7th, 2011, which by 2012, it was revealed that they made the official decision to close the current location and rebuild it in the same spot with the new remodel. The reason for the closure/rebuilding was due to the layout of the store and considering how old the building was, which they decided it would be best to just tear it down and start from scratch. The original building of the Springfield CEC closed on April 15th, 2012, and was demolished not long after.
