History

The Colerain Ave Showbiz Pizza Place opened up November 11, 1981 opening in front of the former Gold Circle Mall as the 2nd Showbiz Pizza Store (2nd after Sharonville). The store featured "The Show Room, Sports Room, 60 Arcade games, a merry-go-round, and "a magic cave"." Fun Fact Colerain had unique showroom walls which unlike normal stores had an entrance in the middle of the wall. They would receive Klunk in 1983 apart of The Amazing Uncle Klunk Traveling Show (Event). This store remained unchanged until between 1988 and 1991 when the store would remodel gaining the checkered patterns on the walls, oil paintings and removing much of the Showbiz aesthetic scheme.

In April 1991 the store received Concept Unification. With the store receiving the 90s remodel in 1993. The store would remain majorly untouched until August 2009 the store would receive the 2005 Remodel which would include a major facelift, removing the showroom walls, all the old 90s décor, painting some walls purple, replacing the dim lighting with fluorescents, and expanding outwards into the parking lot.

In April 2016, the Skytubes were removed. The Toddler Zone fence was removed in late 2017. On September 22, 2019 Colerain would close after 38 years due to the owner of the property increasing rent on the lease and CEC no longer wanting to spend the amount on the store. As of 2023, the store is still vacant and being used as storage for the car dealership across the street. Some Phase 4 art pieces from this location were sent to the 4394 Eastgate Square Dr store.
