This location housed The Rock-A-Fire Explosion. Not much is known about their Rock-Afire in specific other than Antioch's lift surviving. Other than that, The show was retrofitted into Munch's Make Believe Band in May 1991. However, the show got into terrible condition by 1993. In 1993 Brian Hagan is hired as tech and majorly improves the decrepit condition the show was in. He also makes new improvements to the show's theming. Brian was employed at the location until being contacted by Showbiz Pizza Time in 1996 and relocating to Dallas, Texas. The reason for his departure was because of the many improvements he'd made to his district, notably customizing Mobile's stage setup three times throughout 1995 and 1996.
By 2002, the playroom retrofit was turned back into the standard 3-Stage but with some things being untouched like Pasqually's position, Jaspers can, and Chuck E's base. On February 10, 1982 the Mobile Showbiz Pizza opened to the public and was located near the competing Pizza Time Theatre at 4685 Airport Blvd. When the Pizza Time Theatre closed permanently in February 1984, Showbiz Pizza ran advertisements that say that they'd honor guest's PTT tokens and or coupons at their location.
* February 10th, 1982 - Opens with at the time popular arcade games like Mrs. Pac-Man, they would regularly run Newspaper ads to offer free tokens and coupons. Unfortunately, there aren't many known pictures or videos of this location in the 80s.

Sometime during Concept Unification the location was remodeled for the first time during the 1986 SPT Remodel Program in 1991. The location was remodeled once again in 1996 during the 1994 SPT Repositioning Initiative and also received Phase I. Afterwards, the store received Phase II and Phase III in-around their respective dates.

In 2005 the location is updated during the 2003 "Cool Chuck" Remodel Initiative. In April 2010 store's skills area and entrance is expanded, taking over existing parking spaces in front of the building. During expansion, a temporary entrance was made between the skills and kiddie area, which had most of its games moved out of the way.
* May 1991 - The Rock-A-Fire Explosion is retrofitted into Munch's Make Believe Band.

This location began to remodel in October of 2019, first painting the exterior white and then removing the 3-Stage. The rest of the interior was finished before 2020 and the exterior wasn't finished until a few months after the fact, most likely due to COVID19.
* 1996 - Location remodels to latest style.

The location as of May 2022

710 Downtowner Loop, Store #560, was a Showbiz Pizza Place that opened on February 10, 1982, with a Rock-Afire Explosion

Stages

This location housed The Rock-Afire Explosion until May 1991, when the show was retrofitted into Munch's Make Believe Band.

Sometime around 1993, the 3-Stage was beyond repair, however a new hire, Brian Hagan, was hired as a technician and majorly improved the decrepit condition the show was in. Brian was employed at the location until being contacted by Showbiz Pizza Time in 1996 and relocating to Dallas, Texas[1]. The reason for his departure was because of the many improvements he'd made to his district, notably customizing Mobile's stage setup three times throughout 1995 and 1996.

The first of these customizations was the Vegas Stage. At first, it was small quality-of-life improvements and making the show look better. Later on, it became its own concept. Afterward was a Winter Stage retrofit Brian also made use of Antioch's tolomatic lift, children's toys, and customized a tuxedo for Chuck E. Cheese for the Playroom Stage.

In 1992, the Playroom Stage retrofit began being retrofitted back into the standard 3-Stage look but with some things being untouched like Pasqually's position, Jasper's can, and Chuck E's base. All of the characters' outfits were also reverted. The backdrops were sourced from SPT, the store's originals having been thrown away rather than stored. At an unknown point after 2002, Chuck E's base was replaced with the regular black one.

By 2010, the tuxedo on Chuck E. was finally replaced with the new "Avenger" outfit.

In April 2012 Snapper Ard does maintenance on the show and later sold off the prop characters.[2] The animatronics started to fall into disrepair shortly after his departure but was able to be recovered in 2016, around the same time they gave Chuck E. the "Rockstar" shirt.

The Cyberstar broke shortly before the 3-Stage was removed in October 2019, making the location to have the first Dance Floor installed in Alabama.

The showroom would be called mediocre by many due to only having the art of Chuck E. Cheese and Helen Henny in the area and then having two screens between. This would finally be changed sometime in June 2023 when the store received the Video Wall.

History

Showbiz Pizza Advertisements

Before Showbiz Pizza opened in Mobile an advertisement was run in the local newspapers that advertised Showbiz coming soon to Mobile, Alabama.[3] This advertisement would be subject to an infamous edit over 35 years later that depicted Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights At Freddy's in the place of Billy Bob, this time advertising Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.[4]

Remodels

This location began to remodel in October of 2019, first painting the exterior white and then removing the 3-Stage. The rest of the interior was finished before 2020 and the exterior wasn't finished until a few months after the fact, most likely due to COVID19.

July 22, 2023 Fire

On July 22, a fire allegedly started in the building.[5]

Misc.

 • When the store was remodeled in 2005 they received CEC Pop-Art but was missing the fourth one that was supposed to come with it ever since.
 • On May 19, 2011, a Geocache named "Chuck E Cheese Geo to JAPAN" is created with the intent of sending a Chuck E. Cheese plushie location to Japan. On June 7, 2011, the Plush toy was last seen in a photo with the Chuck E. Cheese walkaround at the Mobile, AL Chuck E. Cheese's.[6]
 • Sometime around June 2023, the store's street sign was removed.
