Newington remained like this until their closure on March 31st, 2018. They closed probably due to a lease disagreement. After closure, the store was gutted and remained abandoned for a few months until a furniture store called "Bernie and Phyl's Furniture" moved into the space. Currently, as of March 2023, Bernie and Phyl's Furniture is still there.

In around 1989 or 1990, the Balcony Stage was replaced with Chuck E.'s House Facade or the C-Stage.

In the Early-Mid 90's, their C-Stage was replaced with the 2-Stage which remained at the store until their closure.
